We live in a traditional terraced house built in the 1930's. When we moved in, the ground floor was open plan but still had the original windows plus a glass lean-to on the back of the house. It was very cold and drafty downstairs from the rear and we wanted to extend the entire ground floor to create a large and airy (but warm!) kitchen extension with dining area, plus a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and hand basin. We also wanted to close off the front room to create a cosy tv/library room with fireplace. Being new to the Coventry area, having moved from London, we spent a lot of time researching local industry and eventually got the plans drawn and appointed Ace Builders to complete the work. We had never done a building project on this scale and were apprehensive and concerned about the timescale and potential setbacks. However, Ace Builders were great right from the start. We had a tight specification and were clear that we would need to live in the house throughout the build, so we would need basic amenities as far as possible. John was very supportive and explained exactly when the key milestones would take place, and we were able to work this around our requirements. We were concerned that the building would cause problems because we have a dog, but the builders were very accommodating. We had a lot of questions all the way through, but John was there to explain in detail and provide reassurance. The main concern was timescales; I am sure most people dread the idea that a builder will disappear halfway through a build. However the build was finished earlier than planned and in addition Ace builders were able to fit the kitchen at a cheaper price than we had budgeted. After-sales care has been great; we have had a few queries since the build completed but John has been there swiftly to deal with any issues in person. We have been very impressed by the quality of service and would not hesitate to recommend Ace Builders.
